November 2023 – General Meeting: Leaving a Legacy: Planning for the Future of Your Family History
Leaving a Legacy: Planning for the Future of Your Family History
Taneya Koonce
We all hear the stories, right? How the younger generations may not be as interested in our genealogy research, nor want all the “photos and stuff” we so meticulously gather over the years of our passionate interest in family history. In this presentation, you will learn specific ways you can leave a legacy your future family will find worth keeping! Using a combination of engaging technology tools and distribution methods, learn how to preserve family history research and photos in ways that last for generations to come. We will also learn how to organize, file and find photos with the future in mind.
Taneya Koonce, a certified genealogist and national speaker, has an extensive list of accomplishments including speaking at RootsTech and contributing to the popular genealogy TV program “Finding Your Roots”.
In addition to her presentation, we will have our society officer elections and will be accepting your nominations for the Helen Crise Honorary Lifetime Membership Award. Looking forward to seeing you at this important meeting!
The meeting will be held in person at the Thousand Oaks Grant R. Brimhall Library. Doors will open for socializing and book sales at 5:30 pm. The meeting begins at 6:15 pm.
All new books will be on sale for 50% off! And all used books will be free!
