Sharing: Our Library and Our History
Early members of our Society started a “sharing library” of genealogy materials that they brought to meetings. As that small collection grew, they looked for a more permanent home for our CVGS Genealogy Library Collection with space to grow. Our relationship with the Thousand Oaks Library was established. Members and the general public are invited to share our genealogy reference materials. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers are limited in the library. Consider requesting help for general genealogical questions from our CVGS research volunteers at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Genealogical Collection is located in the southeast corner of the Grant R. Brimhall (Thousand Oaks) Library at 1401 E. Janss Rd. Thousand Oaks, CA. Over 6000 books, a large collection of periodicals and genealogy related magazines, 17 shelves of family histories, a collection of old maps, CDs, microfilm and microfiche are available.
