Research Databases at the Library
The following major genealogical subscription sites are available online at the library at no cost:
*Ancestry Library Edition
*AmericanAncestors (NEHGS mega-database, member access available via the library through our CVGS paid subscription)
*During our current Covid closures, these two databases listed above (Ancestry & AmericanAncestors) join the databases below as being currently available online from home with a current Thousand Oaks Library Card.

Please note that both Ancestry and AmericanAncestors are usually only available for in-library access. With library onsite-access unavailable during COVID-19 closures, the Thousand Oaks Library working with CVGS has provided temporary online access to AmericanAncestors and Ancestry.
How to access Ancestry.com from home:
- Go to the library website: https://www.tolibrary.org
- Click on virtual library
- Click on eResources A to Z
- Click on Ancestry Library Edition
- Enter library card number and PIN
- Click “start searching” green button
- You can send items found to your email address
