Research Databases at the Library

The following major genealogical subscription sites are available online at the library at no cost:

*Ancestry Library Edition
*AmericanAncestors (NEHGS mega-database, member access available via the library through our CVGS paid subscription)

*During our current Covid closures, these two databases listed above (Ancestry & AmericanAncestors) join the databases below as being currently available online from home with a current Thousand Oaks Library Card.

Please note that both Ancestry and AmericanAncestors are usually only available for in-library access. With library onsite-access unavailable during COVID-19 closures, the Thousand Oaks Library working with CVGS has provided temporary online access to AmericanAncestors and Ancestry.

How to access from home:

  • Go to the library website:
  • Click on virtual library
  • Click on eResources A to Z
  • Click on Ancestry Library Edition
  • Enter library card number and PIN
  • Click “start searching” green button
  • You can send items found to your email address

Enjoy researching online with all our databases currently online via the Virtual Thousand Oaks Library.
