VOLUNTEER FOR VENTURA COUNTY FAIR
The 2022 Ventura County Fair runs Wednesday, August 3rd thru Sunday, August 14th. Again, the Ventura California Family History Center and the Ventura County Genealogical Society will sponsor a Genealogy Booth in the Gem and Mineral Building.
As you know, we need volunteers to staff the booth as both greeters and on the computers. Each day will include three shifts of four volunteers. The shifts are from 10:00 or 11:00-2:30, 2:30 to 6:30, and 6:30-10:00. (The first shift’s opening time will be either 10:00 am on Saturdays, Sundays, and Senior Day Tuesday, August 11th or the regular opening time of 11:00 am on the remaining days.) Please consider signing up to volunteer, at the 2022 Genealogy Booth at the Ventura California Fair, for one or more shifts on the Sign-up Genius below:

The schedule for all the shifts is on the site. Once you’ve signed up, you will be contacted by email regarding the volunteer instructions and duties. This contact will happen about a month before the fair begins. Remember, volunteers receive free entry to the Fair each day they help staff the Genealogy Booth. Information about how to pick up your complimentary ticket will be sent in the email as well.
Visitors to the Fair come from all over Southern California and the traffic through the booth is very robust at times. We are able to do only a brief search for their family members, let them know where to find help in their own area, and give them a handout to help them continue their research. Our guests often become very excited about searching for their ancestors. It’s a rewarding feeling to have been able to help them. I hope you will join us this year in offering an important service to the community by signing up for one or more shifts.
Feel free to call or email me at any time for more information.
