Charlotte Jean Sheldon

Charlotte Jean Sheldon died at age 98 in Newbury Park at home with family by her side in January 2024. Born in 1925 in Cortland, New York, she was the daughter of Gladys (Everett) and Lloyd Smith.

A 40-year member of Westlake United Methodist church, she sang in the choir and read scripture during services. After retirement as a 4th-6th grade teacher in Simi Valley, her final goal was researching and organizing her family ancestry and teaching others those same skills as a member of the Conejo Valley Genealogical Society (CVGS). She was also one of the leaders of the Goebel Genealogy Group in Thousand Oaks.
