James F. Butcher

We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2024, at the age of 88, James F. Butcher passed away in Newbury Park, California. Jim was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was loved and cherished by many people including his parents, James Nathaniel and Amelia Laura Butcher; his wife Anne Meredith Tetley; their children, James Edward, Julia Anne, and his son David Andrew. He also had five grandchildren, one great grandson, and a second great grandchild.

Jim was very active in the Conejo Valley Genealogical Society (CVGS) and graciously served where needed as leader of the Computer Interest Group, Webmaster, Parliamentarian, Chair of the Bylaws Committee, and most recently was president of the society. Jim was also actually selected as the recipient of the Helen Crise Honorary Lifetime Membership Award but declined to accept it for personal reasons.  A humble and admirable man, he is greatly missed.
